KSH: Hungary’s industrial output up 9.2% y-o-y in May

Industrial production in Hungary increased by 9.2% in May, as compared to the same month a year earlier, according to a first release of data published today by the Central Statistics Office (KSH). Compared to the previous month, production fell slightly.

Adjusted for seasonal and working-day indices, the volume of industrial production in May was below the level of the previous month by 0.7%, KSH said.

Industrial output overall increased year-on-year in the first five months of the year by 3%, KSH said. 

When adjusted for working days, production in May grew by 4.2% year-on-year, as the number of working days was two higher than in May of last year, according to KSH’s data.

A second estimate of May’s industrial production will be released by KSH on July 13.

In April, Hungary’s industrial output went up by 5.3% over April of the previous year.
