KSH: Hog, cattle stocks in Hungary continue to grow
Cattle stock increased further in June, as it had since December, while the number of pigs and sheep remained almost unchanged in the past six months and chicken stock grew in line with seasonality as compared to December of the previous year, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported today.
In year-on-year terms, the number of cattle rose by 30,000, reaching 818,000, while cow stock increased by 10,000. The number of pigs was 3.1 million, some 64,000 more than a year earlier. The number of chickens was 37.8 million, which was 2.25 million (6.3%) higher than a year ago. Sheep stock was 1.2 million - decreasing by 45,000.
