KSH: Average gross earnings up 3.9% in January-September
Average gross earnings in Hungary saw a year-on-year increase of 3.9% in the period of January-September, with September figures being lifted chiefly by a salary increase of armed forces and the payment of an additional allowance for those working in the social services sector, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today.
Excluding the 207,400 Hungarians in fostered work programs, employed by the Hungarian government, the average gross wage rose 5.3% to HUF 255,276, while net wages increased at the same rate to HUF 167,207, Hungarian news agency MTI reported, citing KSH data. Full-time fostered workers earned gross HUF 78,866 on average during the month, MTI added.
In the January-September period, average gross nominal earnings of full-time employees, according to the national concept, amounted to HUF 243,000 at corporations employing at least five persons, budgetary and designated non-profit institutions, KSH said. Average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance activities – HUF 491,800 – and the lowest in human health and social work activities – HUF 145,900, KSH added.
KSH data suggest that average net earnings, excluding family tax benefits, were HUF 159,200 by national concept.
Monthly average gross wages and salaries according to the SNA concept amounted to HUF 255,600, KSH added.
