KSH: August output price inflation rises

Industrial producer prices rose 2.4% year-on-year in August after rising 1.3% in July, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported yesterday. Prices have now increased for the third successive month. 

Prices in the manufacturing sector rose 3.4% from a year earlier, mining and quarrying prices climbed 6.3%. Meanwhile, costs of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply dropped 2.7%.

Industrial producer prices of goods sold in the export market were higher by 3.6% than in August last year and domestic sales prices up by 0.4%, the Budapest-based agency said.

Sequentially, the producer price index advanced 0.7% in August, following the previous month’s 0.2% increase. Domestic sales prices increased by 0.6% month-on-month, and export sales prices gained 0.8%.
