India-based automotive industry supplier Sona is planning to construct a HUF 4.2 billion plant in Hungary’s town of Polgár, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told Hungarian news agency MTI today on the telephone after talks in New Delhi.

The foreign minister added that the investment is foreseen to create 130 new jobs in Hungary. Szijjártó said the company currently has plants in India, the United States and Germany, MTI said.

An agreement was also reached on establishing a joint venture between pre-fabricated building company Gremound Hungary and a local partner to participate in Indiaʼs program to build 20 million low-rent homes, the minister said, according to MTI.
