Hungary’s May c/a surplus dips from April
Hungary's current-account surplus dropped to €317 mln in May, down from €519 mln in April, data pubished by the National Bank of Hungary revealed yesterday.
The capital account surplus reached €430 mln in May, while the combined surpluses of the current and capital accounts totaled at €747 mln. The data also reveals that capital transfers from the EU came to €430 mln in May.
Current account data used to be issued quarterly, but the central bank said it has now launched the monthly release of data “to inform users of real economy and financing developments related to the rest of the world with the shortest lag possible following the reference period.”
