Hungary, Qatar ink economic deal

Conferences

Hungary and Qatar signed a cooperation agreement on Monday in the fields of economy and technology. The deal was part of an official visit by Minister of State for Climate and Energy Affairs Pál Kovács to the Emirate state. Signing for Qatar was Minister of Business and Trade H. E. Sheikh Jassim bin Adbulaziz Al Thani. The deal puts in place an initial framework for further cooperation in tourism, farming, communications and between Hungarian and Qatari SMEs. The Qatar minister of Trade issued a statement on Monday where he emphasised that the current weak trade between Hungary and Qatar does not reflect the level of friendship between the two countries. Hungarian officials have made numerous such trips to Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries as part of an ongoing strategy of reaching beyond the EU.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
