Hungary lifts weekend transport truck ban due to heat wave
Hungary is planning to lift a ban on transport trucks this weekend because of a heat wave that could pose a risk to truckersʼ health, the National Development Ministry said yesterday.
Under normal circumstances, vehicles over 7.5 tons would be banned from Hungaryʼs roads from 10pm on Saturday to 10pm on Sunday, however as Hungaryʼs chief doctor issued a second-degree heat alert from noon on Thursday till midnight Monday, truck drivers will be permitted to drive at all hours during the weekend.
