Hungary, Kazakhstan officials discuss bilateral agricultural ties

Farm ministry state secretary István Nagy today met Saparkhan Kesikbayevich Omarov, Kazakhstanʼs deputy minister of agriculture, to discuss Hungarian-Kazakh agricultural ties, the farm ministry told Hungarian news agency MTI.

During the meetings in Kazakhstan, the officials discussed opportunities for cooperation in investment, the exchange of know-how, university student exchange programs and boosting bilateral trade in GMO-free seeds.

They agreed to put together a work plan for further agricultural cooperation and that officials from the two countries would meet regularly to discuss their progress.

Nagy also met Yerlan Aukenov, deputy mayor of Almaty, to discuss bilateral trade. He also attended the 18th Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition which also featured Hungarian products, the ministry said.
