Hungarian state-owned tourism agency Magyar Turizmus expects Iberiaʼs launch of a direct flight between Madrid and Budapest to boost the number of Spanish visitors to Hungary by 15%, reaching 160,000, this year, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
The tourism agency also expects guest nights spent by Spanish tourists in Hungary to jump from last year’s 80,000 to 400,000 this year.
The number of seats on direct flights between Spain and Hungary will increase by more than 64,000 this year from 95,700 in 2014, the tourism agency noted.
