Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and Chileʼs Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Edgardo Riveros held talks yesterday in Budapest to discuss the development of economic ties between the two countries, according to reports.

Chile is interested in products and services from Hungaryʼs mining industry as well as medical equipment and IT solutions, Hungarian news agency MTI reported late yesterday following the talks of the two officials.

The sides agreed to initiate talks on a double taxation avoidance treaty, and four Hungarian companies were awarded licences to export pork to Chile, MTI added.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
