Hungarians prefer vacationing on the beach

Hungarians planning their summer vacations are longing for sandy beaches, or at least spending time on the banks of lakes and rivers, with the most popular destinations being Croatia, and Lake Balaton in Hungary, travelo.hu, the travel portal of online daily index.hu, found after surveying 2,300 Hungarians.

Although the majority of survey participants said they would like to visit sandy beaches, Croatia and Balaton are still popular choices despite the fact they are not known for their sandy beaches. Some 70% of the respondents, however, love spending their vacations near freshwater.

Approximately 70% would prefer to relax on a sandy beach, a little more than 10% like beaches with small rocks, while only 9.7% have a preference for grassy beaches. Poolside vacations and rocky beaches are the least popular among Hungarians.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
