House Speaker meets Azeri economy minister
Hungarian House Speaker László Kövér discussed bilateral economic relations with Azerbaijanʼs Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev in Baku yesterday.
They welcomed developments in political, economic, parliamentary and educational relations between the two countries as well as the growth in bilateral trade since 2013.
Mustafayev, who has served as co-chair of the Hungarian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee for more than five years, noted that implementation of 40 bilateral agreements is under way.
"Hungary regards Azerbaijan a strategic partner in energy cooperation," Kövér said, highlighting Hungaryʼs interest in projects linked to the Southern Gas Corridor which would serve the countryʼs aim of diversifying its energy resources and import routes.
Both sides identified the potential for further cooperation in education, culture and tourism.
