Guest nights in Hungary rise 9.5% in July

Guest nights in Hungary rose 9.5% to 3,943,000 in July from the same month a year earlier, a release by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) today reveals.

The number of nights spent by international and domestic tourists increased by 12% to 1,755,000 and 7.5% to 2,189,000, respectively, compared to a year earlier.

The number of tourism nights increased most notably from the United Kingdom and the United States (by 28% and 23% respectively), and the turnover generated by tourists from Poland, the Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic was up at rates between 15% and 18%.

The number of domestic tourist arrivals increased by 12% and that of domestic tourism nights by 7.5%. Guest turnover measured on the basis of domestic tourism nights increased in all the nine tourism regions.

The next release on accommodation data will be published on October 12.
