Gov’t decree clarifies subsidies for installing e-tills
The Hungarian government will provide a HUF 50,000 subsidy per electronic till to be installed at companies with annual revenues of up to HUF 500 million, according to a decree published in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny, reports say.
Many businesses are required to use electronic tills in Hungary that are connected directly to the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV). Requiring businesses to use electronic tills was a measure introduced by the Ministry for National Economy to fight tax evasion and the black economy, according to reports.
The calculations of the ministry suggest that approximately 20,000 Hungarian businesses would be eligible for the government support.
Since the introduction of e-tills in 2014, the government has been broadening the range of businesses that are required to install the devices. The latest additions are dry cleaners, auto mechanics, money changers and taxis from the start of next year, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
