Gov’t allows spending of HUF 192.5 bln in 2015 budget residuals
Hungary’s government has authorized the spending of HUF 192.5 billion of residual budget funds, earmarked but unspent from the 2015 central budget, according to a resolution published in the official gazette Magyar Közlöny last week, state news agency MTI has reported. Another HUF 13.6 bln of unspent residuals will be withheld until further notice.
The biggest tranches of funds thus freed up by have been allocated to the National Development Ministry (HUF 43.8 bln), the European Union developments chapter of the budget (HUF 42.3 bln), and Ministry of Human Resources (HUF 33.2 bln for health and education, among other things). Some HUF 6.3 bln or almost half of the still withheld residuals are earmarked for the EU developments budgetary chapter.
The government resolution also approved the transfer of funds between various budget chapters. The biggest item here is a HUF 3 bln reduction in the support of public transport developments in the EU developments chapter of the budget, and a similar rise in the funding of operations of the vocational training centers.
