Forint down again, weakest since January

After a week of slides by the forint, the drop in value of the national currency continued yesterday, hitting HUF 303.51 to the euro at 4:15 p.m. CET, down from 300.94 the previous workday and making for the first time the 303 mark has been broken since early January.

The forint also weakened against the Swiss franc and US dollar on Monday, trading at 246.43 and 224.18, respectively, compared to the rates of 244.61 and 221.06 seen on Friday afternoon.

As of noon CET today (Tuesday, December 3), the forint was trending back toward ending the business day at that HUF 303 mark, sitting at 303.42.

After shortly dipping to HUF 303.84 against the European currency, the forint fought back to a morning peak of HUF 302.67 to the euro at about 11am CET.
