Moldova trade gap widens in December

Moldova's trade gap widened to USD 348.9 million in December of 2020 from USD 321.4 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) show.
Exports were little changed from a year earlier at USD 218.3 million while imports rose 5.1% to USD 567.2 million.
Considering full 2020, the country's trade gap narrowed to USD 2930.5 million from USD 3063.3 million, as exports tumbled 10.6% and imports declined 7.3%.
