Hungary Food, Farm Exports Climb 26% in H1

Hungary's first-half exports of agriculture and food products rose 26% year-on-year to EUR 6.519 billion, state news wire MTI writes citing a report by the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI).

Food and farm product imports increased 34% to EUR 4.383 bln during the period.

AKI noted that export prices for the products climbed 27% in H1, while import prices increased just 9%. Hungary's terms of trade improved 16%.

Food and farm exports accounted for a little more than 9pc of Hungary's total exports in H1.
