The Czech Republic posted a CZK 18.2 billion (EUR 714.4 million) deficit in October, compared with a CZK 31.11 billion surplus in the same month last year, data from the country's statistics agency show.
Imports rose 6.9% due to purchases of crude petroleum and natural gas amid a global rise in energy prices, while exports dropped 7.5% on the back of a decline in sales of motor vehicles, trailers and semitrailers.
