Bulgaria trade gap widens on October

Bulgaria's trade deficit widened to BGN 776.3 million (EUR 396.9 million) in October from BGN 697.5 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, data from the statistics institute showed.

Import rose by 20.7% to an all-time high of BGN 6,849.5 million, while, exports surged 22% year-on-year to a record high of BGN 6,073.2 million.

Considering the first ten months of 2021, the country's trade deficit widened to BGN 5,998.4 million (EUR 3,066.9 million) in the same period of 2020, as exports grew 23%, while imports grew at a faster 25.6%.
