Hungary had a trade deficit for the fifth month in a row in November, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data released yesterday.

The first reading of the data, published on Jan. 10, showed a surplus of EUR 81 million, suggesting an end to the streak of trade deficits since July, outliers in an export-driven economy such as Hungary's.

But the second reading shows a deficit of EUR 76 mln, the balance of exports of EUR 11.157 billion and imports of EUR 11.233 bln. Export growth of 8.2% was outpaced by import growth of 15.7% during the month.
