MNB International Reserves Climb EUR 839 mln in May

International reserves of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) stood at EUR 47.735 bln at the end of May, up EUR 839 mln from a month earlier, preliminary data released by the central bank on Friday show.

The stock of cash, deposits, and securities in the reserves fell by EUR 1.357 bln to EUR 32.151 bln, while the stock of "other reserve instruments" jumped EUR 2.415 bln to EUR 6.609 bln.

The value of monetary gold in the reserves stood at EUR 6.571 bln and the stock of IMF SDRs fell EUR 226 mln to EUR 2.037 bln.

The reserves were EUR 6.331 bln higher than at the end of 2023.
