Hungary C/A deficit reaches EUR 780 mln in April

Hungary's current account had a EUR 780 million deficit in April, state news wire MTI reports, citing preliminary monthly data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Tuesday.

Hungary had a EUR 211 mln trade deficit for the month, the balance of an EUR 887 mln deficit in trade of goods and a EUR 676 mln surplus in trade of services.

The primary income balance showed a deficit of EUR 366 mln, as investors repatriated EUR 503 mln from direct investments.

Capital transfers from the European Union came to EUR 526 mln for the month.
