Romanian c. bank FX reserves rise in August

The foreign exchange reserves held by Romania's central bank, excluding gold, totaled EUR 41.616 billion at the end of August, compared to EUR 39 billion a month earlier, the central bank said on Wednesday.

The gold reserves of the central bank remained unchanged at 103.6 tonnes.

However, following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to EUR 5.114 billion at the end of August.

The international reserves, including foreign currencies and gold, totaled EUR 46.730 billion as of end-August, compared to EUR 44.130 billion a month earlier, it said.
