KBC books Q3 earnings of EUR 62 mln in Hungary

Belgium's KBC booked net income of EUR 62 million at its businesses in Hungary in the third quarter, up 22% from the same period a year earlier, news agency MTI says, citing an earnings report.

Net interest income rose 12% to EUR 76 mln and net revenue from commissions and fees increased 11% to EUR 51 mln.

KBC released EUR 7 mln of provisions at the banking business, K&H Bank, after booking impairment of EUR 2 mln in the base period.

The stock of client loans stood at EUR 5.457 bln at the end of September, up 14% from 12 months earlier.

Client deposits rose 13% to EUR 9.045 bln.

KBC booked net income of about EUR 2 mln at its insurance business in Hungary.
