The Budapest-based International Investment Bank (IIB) has subscribed a Schuldschein issued by Hungarian private healthcare company Medicover, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
IIB said Medicover will use the proceeds from the ten-year tranche to upgrade its technology and expand its operations in the region, particularly in Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia, all IIB members.
Medicover operates more than 30 clinics, 15 diagnostics labs, and three major hospitals in those countries, it added.
IIB noted that it has partnered with Medicover since 2019, when it financed the development of its medical facilities in Romania. To date, IIB has provided Medicover with EUR 40 million.
The sole-lead arranger in the Schuldschein issue was Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen, Frankfurt.
