Green Preferential Capital Requirement Program Stock at HUF 1.022 tln

Local lenders' stock of credit in a preferential capital requirement scheme to support green lending reached HUF 1.022 tln at the end of March, data published by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) show.

Under the scheme, launched at the start of 2020, MNB is releasing part or all of Pillar 2 capital requirements for environmentally sustainable retail, corporate, and municipal exposures.

The data show the gross value of corporate and municipal exposure in the preferential capital requirement program stood at HUF 800 bln at the end of March.

Bonds in the scheme came to HUF 90 bln, at fair market value, and gross stock of home loans reached HUF 132 bln.
