Gránit Bank Acquiring Majority Stake in Equilor

Gránit Bank is acquiring a 50%-plus-one-vote stake in independent brokerage and investment company Equilor Investment Ltd., the parties said on Friday, according to novekdes.hu.
The transaction will allow Gránit Bank to expand the investment and private banking services it offers clients, while the backing of a bank will support the expansion of Equilor's investment services, the sides said.
Equilor Investment Ltd. will keep its name, and its chairman, András Gereben, and CEO, Bálint Szécsényi, will continue to head the company, while keeping their 49.9% stake in the business.
The transaction requires the approval of the National Bank of Hungary and the Competition Office.
