Fewer companies behind on tax payments of more than HUF 100m

The number of private individuals and sole proprietorships significantly behind on taxes rose, while the number of companies that owed back taxes fell in the fourth quarter of last year, data from the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) show.

The number of private individuals who were more than 180 days behind on tax payments exceeding HUF 10m rose to 3,581 at the end of December from 3,501 at the end of September. The number of companies behind on more than HUF 100m in tax payments fell to 1,771 from 2,023 during the same period.

NAV compiles data on back taxes owed by the groups on a quarterly basis.
