Companies Borrow HUF 256 bln in October

Non-financial companies borrowed net HUF 256 billion from Hungarian banks in October, according to monthly data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Friday.

Net corporate borrowing has averaged HUF 156 bln a month so far this year.

Local banks' corporate lending stock, including subscriptions of corporate bonds, reached HUF 13.322 trillion at the end of the month.

Companies made net withdrawals from both their forint and FX accounts in October, taking out the equivalent of HUF 174 bln. The firmer forint reduced the value of FX deposits by HUF 142 bln.

Corporate deposit stock reached HUF 14.788 tln at the end of the month.
