Eximbank opens $26.7 mln credit line to support Hungarian-Cambodian partnerships

Hungaryʼs Eximbank is opening a $26.7 million credit line to support partnerships between Hungarian and Cambodian companies, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó told Hungarian news agency MTI today, speaking on the telephone from Phnom Penh.

“Itʼs apparent that our Western and Central European friends are becoming more and more interested in Cambodia. We cannot stay out of this race,” Szijjártó said.

Cambodia is struggling with a big deficit in its food processing industry and is inviting Hungarian investments in livestock farming and the meat industry, he said. The country is also interested in Hungarian software, medical technology and water management solutions, he added.
