SMR Automotive sees turnover double by 2014

Indian-owned SMR Automotive Mirror Technology Hungary plans to double the turnover at its plants in Hungary from €180m last year to €360m-390m by 2014, Pal Levente Tibori, director of the SMR plant in Mosonmagyaróvár (NW Hungary), said on Thursday.
By 2014, a HUF 7bn car mirror plant inaugurated in Mosonmagyaróvár in September, will be up to full capacity, Tibori said. Headcount is set to rise from 1,400 at present by about 400 within three years, he added.
The company wants to replace an 8,000sqm logistics centre it rents with its own base in a few years, he said.
SMR’s base in Mosonmagyaróvár currently operates at about 40% capacity. The company’s plant in nearby Mosonszolnok is at 93% capacity.
