Sewage treatment plant in W Hungary to undergo HUF 2bn development

Recycling

Six municipalities in SW Hungary have jointly won HUF 1.77bn in European Union funding for a HUF 2bn development of the sewage treatment plant operated by the local waterworks company Tolnai Víz- és Csatornamű, Manager Gabor Bodrogi told MTI.

As a result of the investment, the sewage treatment plant, which has capacity to treat 2,500 cubic meters of sewage per day, will release a lower volume of organic pollutants into the Danube River from 2013.

The new technology will permit the complete biological treatment of the communal sewage generated at the six communities.
