Sekab to build fifth bio-ethanol plant
Svensk Etanolkemi AB will build its fifth bio-ethanol production facility in the vicinity of Szentes (Southeast Hungary), mayor of the town Imre Szibrik announced.
The new facility will be built from a Ft 3 billion investment. The plant will create about 30 jobs, and will process annual 300,000 tons of corn bought from producers of the region. The parent company Svensk Etanolkemi AB (SEKAB) announced a year ago that it plans to invest €380 million ($525 million) into creating the first 4 plants in Hungary. Sekab is expecting income of €290 million ($400 million) from its Hungarian facilities as early as 2009. (Napi Gazdaság)
