Magna Steyr to move R&D center to Győr

Magna Steyr AG, Austria's leading automotive supplier, will move its R&D center to Győr, western Hungary and double the number of engineers at the Hungarian site, Igor Oreb, Head of Office of Magna Steyr EHC Győr Kft told Napi Gazdaság.

The plant will take over part of the company's logistics operations as well as the design of bodywork, drivetrains and electronic components, Oreb said. Magna Steyr, which operates in 22 countries globally with some 81,000 employees, has spent over Ft 120 million to set up its Hungarian production facility, established in 2001.
