LAplast makes HUF 300 mln upgrade in recycling technology

LAplast Pet Recycler is undertaking a HUF 300 mln technology investment at its base in Tiszaújváros in northeastern Hungary, project manager Gábor Berki said on Wednesday, MTI news agency reported.
The investment is being realized with a HUF 263 mln grant from the Norwegian Fund and will enable the company to recycle more of the plastic bottles it collects. Currently its facilities are only able to handle 1,600 of the 2,000 tonnes of waste it collects each year. The technology upgrade will raise the recycle to collection rate to nearly 100%.
