Energy company Kalocsa Hőerőmű Kft will build a Ft 34 billion biomass power plant in central Hungary, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported, citing managing director György Király.

Kalocsa Hőerőmű plans to build a 50MW biomass-fueled power plant and an artificial fertilizer factory in the town of Kalocsa, Király said. The two plants will employ 70-80 people and burn some 300,000 tons of crop waste a year. The construction of the factories will begin next year and is expected to be finished by the end of 2008, with operations due to start in January 2009.
