JH Ziegler Pannonia, the Hungarian unit of German nonwoven maker JH Ziegler, on Tuesday inaugurated a €7m production hall at its base in Babolna (NW Hungary).

The 3,100sqm production hall doubles the manufacturing space at the base, sales director Szilard Barta told MTI. The value of output in Babolna is expected to rise from €4m to €12m a year, he added.

The unit bought another 6,000sqm plot with further expansion in mind, Mr Barta said.

In two years, the base will reach full capacity and turn out as much as the parent company's plant in Aachen, said managing director Peter Hartwig.

JH Ziegler Pannonia employs 47 people at the base at present, but plans to make 10-15 new hires next year.

The company's nonwovens are delivered to the furniture and automotive industries.
