Italian pump maker DAB starts test production in Hungary

Italian water pump maker DAB has started test operation at a HUF 1.1 billion plant it built in Nagykanizsa, CEO Paolo Mario Menon said on Friday. The plant will employ 51 people this year, but the number will rise to 176 by the end of 2016. DAB will triple the size of the plant over three years, spending an additional HUF 500 million, he added. The plant will turn out an annual 50,000 pumps by the end of this year, but the number will rise to 200,000 next year. The pumps will be sold in Eastern and Western Europe.
