Chinese-owned Asiafood will start production at a more than HUF 1 billion noodle plant in Verpelét (NE Hungary) on April 1, a commissioner for the local government told MTI at the plant's inauguration on Thursday.

Asiafood won more than HUF 400 million in European Union and state grant money for the project, said László Horváth.

Headcount at the plant could rise from 70 to 250 by the end of the year, he added.
