HP wins Ft 2.7 bln Mol contract

HP Hungary Kft, a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Co., the world's second-largest maker of personal computers, won a contract worth Ft 2.7 billion ($12.8 million) to run the computer network of Mol Rt, Eastern Europe's biggest refiner. HP will take over the operation of Mol's network of 6,800 computers, 4,800 printers and 3,000 other devices and will also take on 80 employees from Mol, the company said.
HP Hungary has similar contracts with Sony, Nokia and Procter & Gamble. "This is a new area where we can supply proof of the advantages of our complex portfolio," managing director Imre Szalay said.
