Henkel to move caulk production to Hungary

German household products giant Henkel will soon move production of silicone caulk and other flooring adhesives from Austria to its plant in Barcs in southwest Hungary, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Wednesday.

Henkel acquired the line of caulk and adhesives products when it bought Austria's Cimsec this spring. The company's products are already well known in Central and Eastern Europe. Henkel spokeswoman Emília Kultsár said the company would use excess capacity at the plant in Barcs to make the products. She said these would be sold in Hungary and Croatia.
Henkel Hungary Kft had revenue of Ft 63.1 billion in 2005. This year, because of the acquisition of the Cimsec line, it expects double-digit revenue growth. Henkel operates three plants in Hungary.
