GE inaugurates Ft 4 bln membrane plant in Hungary

General Electric on Wednesday inaugurated its new Ft 4 billion membrane plant in Oroszlány, near Budapest.

The plant marked the last phase of a $45 million (Ft 9 billion) investment launched by Zenon Environmental, which GE took over in 2006. The Hungarian state supported the investment program with Ft 500 million. The plant is the world's most modern ultrafilter membrane plant. It staff of 500 make membranes capable of filtering substances at the molecular level.
