Fletcher Building opts for Hungary

Taking advantage of beneficial government and local offers, New Zealand’s Fletcher Building is to construct its regional production facility and logistics center in Hungary instead of Slovenia - reports Hungarian daily Napi Gazdaság.

One of the world’s leading building component makers is to implement the construction of the plant and the 25,000 square meter storage node in the Várpalota industrial park for Ft 3 billion ($16 million). The preparatory phases of the greenfield investment are to start within 2007, with the actual construction works scheduled for next spring. Fletcher Building, having founded its Hungarian subsidiary in 2007 plans to serve all of its CEE partners from the Várpalota junction. (Napi Gazdaság)
