Communications Director Zoltán Krippl said Elcoteq was preparing to engage about 500 new non-skilled workers as leased employees, along with over 100 skilled technicians and some 50 highly qualified staff members who would be employed directly.
According to business daily Napi Gazdaság, the company has recently secured significant new contracts with its major partners for mobile phone manufacturing.
Elcoteq expanded its workforce by 870 last year, when it also announced a €54 million development plan to upgrade its plants in south Hungary by 2008.
