Eight bidders in Ft 69 bln e-toll tender
On September 13, the Coordination Center for Traffic Development (KKK) called a public procurement tender for creating and operating a national electronic toll payment system for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons.
The system will allow for a proportionate calculation of due tolls on a combined 6,400 kilometer long stretch of motorways and highways. The system is expected to start operation in 2009. The contract will cover the period between May 19, 2008 and December 13, 2013, says the tender invitation. One of the conditions stipulated in the tender is an electronic reference system put into operation no longer than three years ago.
There are eight bidders for the Ft 69 billion IT tender. Seven of them are consortiums with a member that has the required reference from a project abroad, while IT company Albacom Zrt chose to meet the requirement by involving subcontractors in an over 10% share. The subcontractors include MOL Nyrt, Raiffeisen Informatik AG and Vodafone Hungary Zrt.
The seven bidders are First Hungarian Toll System Consortium, the consortiums of MVM – MVMI, Hungarian Telekom – T-Systems GmbH, Synergon – Sanef SA, Autostrada per l'Italia S.p.a – Siemens AG – Intertoll-Europe Zrt and a 4-member and 5-member consortium. Four bidders will be selected to go on for the next round of negotiations on November 7. (Gazdasági Rádió)
