Daimler makes 2,000th hire at plant in Hungary
German carmaker Daimler on Thursday made the 2,000th hire at a plant it is building in the Hungarian city of Kecskemet, plant director Frank Klein said.
Preparations for production at the plant are proceeding on schedule, Mr Klein said.
The first serial production car is set to roll off the line at the €800m plant in Q1 2012. The plant will employ 2,500 people to turn out next-generation compact models.
Daimler will show the new B-Class at the Frankfurt Auto Show on September 15-25.
