ContiTech to build rubber mix plant in Nyíregyháza
German rubber and plastics technology company is considering building a €5m rubber plant in the Hungarian city of Nyíregyháza, managing director Hannes Friederichsen told locals at a press conference on Wednesday.
A decision on the plant will be taken before the end of the year, Friederichsen said. Between 20 and 25 people would work at the plant which could start operating in October 2012, he added.
The plant could be built at the base of ContiTech unit Phoenix Legrugo Technologia Gumiipari, said Phoenix managing director László Jókay. The unit, which makes air suspensions for railway vehicles, has invested about €9m at the base in the past several years, he added. It employs 230 people.
ContiTech employs 3,000 people in Hungary at plants in Szeged and Makó, in the southeast, and in Vác, near Budapest.
