US household products giant Colgate-Palmolive plans to shut down production at its plant in Dorog.

Terminating the plant near Budapest will entail laying off more than one hundred staff, local labor office director Etelka Romanek told newsire MTI. Colgate-Palmolive announced already last summer that it would shut down the plant, which earlier made the Fabulon line of cosmetics and other products. The company announced in March that it would close its plant in Brasov, Romania, and move production to its unit in Poland. The closure of the plant in Romania was decided already in 2005 as part of a plan to boost group efficiency. (Napi Gazdaság)
